Ms. Carstarphen served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Applica Incorporated since May 2005. From April 2000 to May 2005, Ms. Carstarphen served as Vice President – Legal at Applica.  Prior to joining Applica, Ms. Carstarphen was a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, P.A.  From September 1995 to January 1998, Ms. Carstarphen served as Vice President, Associate Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary of Capital Bancorp, a bank holding company.  Ms. Carstarphen received her Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she served as a member of the law review, and her undergraduate degree in Marine Affairs from the University of Miami.  Ms. Carstarphen is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
