Back in the sixties Arne Bybjerg Pederson, a bright young entrepeneur from Denmark developed an electrical repair business and began experimenting with ideas for new equipment. One such idea, an electrically heated roller to help his wife curl her obstinately straight hair, was eventually to make him a fortune. The Carmen Curler Company was incorporated in September 1965, with the first sets of Carmen Heated Roller reaching the market in 1966. Carmen Rollers caught the imagination of women throughout Europe and many people still refer to their heated rollers as "Carmens". Carmen, renowned for its strengths of tradition and innovation, is now one of the leading haircare and beauty brands in the market, offering a wide range of top quality hair and beauty products to the consumer.

Carmen has also developed a signature range with twice winner of the British Hairdressing Awards of the year Andrew Collinge. Andrew Collinge is one of the most highly respected figures in the hairdressing industry today.
